Applying with Afterfirst

How applying with us works, from the first call to the offers.

Is Afterfirst a lender or a funder?

No. We're a merchant cash advance broker. We read your file, talk with you, and shop it with the funders whose programs fit. We don't lend money or buy receivables ourselves, and every offer comes from a funder's own review. Then we lay the offers out side by side so you can compare them and choose.

How do I apply?

Apply at afterfirstmca.com/apply. It's four short steps about you, your business and what you need. You can upload bank statements as PDFs right after, over an encrypted connection. If you'd rather talk it through first, call 877-FUND-654, Monday to Friday, 5 AM to 7 PM Pacific, and we'll go over it with you.

Does it cost anything to apply?

Applying is free, and you never pay us a fee. The funder pays us a commission only when your deal funds, and the amount is in your offer paperwork before you sign. There's no charge to apply, to talk with us or to see offers, and nothing is owed if you walk away.

What happens after I apply?

We call you back, usually the same business day, and we always talk with you before we shop your file. A person on our team reads your deposits and any advances you already have, then sends your file to the funders whose programs fit. The offers come back side by side, and you choose one or turn them all down.

How long does the process take?

We call you back, usually the same business day. After that, each funder sets its own review time, and we tell you what's realistic for your file. Complete statements, a current-month printout and quick answers to follow-up questions keep things moving. Nobody should promise you a funding time before reading your file.

Can I get funded the same day I apply?

Sometimes, but nobody should promise it before reading your file. Timing depends on the funder's review, how complete your statements are, and how fast your bank posts the transfer. What we can promise is the first step: we call you back, usually the same business day, and we always talk with you before we shop your file.

Do I have to accept an offer?

No. You can look at every offer and turn them all down, and you owe nothing either way. Nothing is binding until you sign a funder's contract. Take the time to read it, and ask us about any line you don't understand. Pressure to sign on the spot is a warning sign, from anyone.

Why use a broker instead of going to one funder?

One funder can only offer its own terms. We send one file to the funders whose programs fit, so you see more than one offer without filling out the same application over and over. Funders read files differently, too, so a second look can turn up a better price or an easier payment schedule.

Do you work with businesses in my state?

We work with businesses across the country. A few states have their own rules for commercial financing, such as cost disclosures or broker registration, so check our state availability page first. Or call 877-FUND-654, and we'll tell you where your state stands before you send us anything at all.
