MCA Funder FAQ: Your Buy Box
For MCA funders: your buy box and the files you get.
Funders tell us their buy box once: positions, dollar range, industries, states and stacking policy. We sign a written funder agreement, and then we send only the files that fit your box. You can update the box by email any time.

How does a funder start working with Afterfirst?
Email your buy box to info@afterfirstmca.com: positions, dollar range, industries, states and your stacking policy. We sign a written funder agreement, and then we send only the files that fit your box. No file goes out before the agreement is signed, and you can change the box any time by email.

What is a buy box?
A buy box is the set of rules a funder uses to choose files, like minimum revenue, time in business, positions, industries, states and the most payment load it will accept. We match every file against it before sending, so the files you see are ones your program can actually fund.

Does Afterfirst put its own money into deals?
No. We don't buy receivables or fund deals, and every offer comes from a funder's own review. Our job is to read the file, talk with the owner, send it to the funders whose programs fit, and lay the offers out side by side so the owner can compare them and choose.

What comes with each file?
A summary of deposits and open positions, the full bank statements and the application, sent only when the file fits your box. We've already talked with the owner, so the summary reflects what the business actually needs. If you need anything else, ask us, and we'll get it from the owner.

Can a funder change its buy box?
Yes. Email the change to info@afterfirstmca.com, and we update your box before the next file is matched. You can tighten or widen any field, like positions, states or dollar range, whenever your program changes. If you pause a program, tell us, and we stop sending files until you're back.

What does it cost a funder to work with you?
Fees and pay are set out in the written funder agreement, and we don't send a file before it's signed. The merchant never pays us a fee, and our commission on each deal appears in the merchant's offer paperwork before they sign, so the terms stay visible to everyone on the deal.

Will you send files with several open positions?
Only if your box allows it. Your stacking fields set the most open positions and the payment load you'll accept, and we send nothing outside them. Every file shows the existing debits we found in the statements, so you can see the full payment picture before you review it.
