MCA Renewal Calculator
A renewal pays off your current balance and gives you the rest. Enter the balance, the new advance and its factor rate to see the new cash that reaches you and what it costs per dollar. The fee is charged on the full new advance, so the cost per dollar of new cash is higher than the factor suggests.

How the math works
The payoff is the balance minus any discount. New cash equals the new advance minus fees minus the payoff. The new payback is the new advance times the new factor. The cost of the renewal is that payback minus the new advance, plus fees. Dividing by the new cash gives the cost per dollar you actually get. The effective factor on new cash is the new payback minus the payoff, divided by the new cash.

A worked example
$20,000 left on the old advance. Renewal: $50,000 at 1.35 with a $1,000 fee. Payoff $20,000, new cash $29,000, new payback $67,500. Cost $18,500, or about $0.64 per dollar of new cash. The effective factor on the new cash is about 1.64, not 1.35. More in the renewals guide.

When to use it
- A funder calls offering more money before your advance ends.
- You need cash and wonder whether a renewal beats a second position.
- You want the real price of the new money, not the headline factor.
If the cost per dollar of new cash is far above the factor, compare it with a second position or with waiting until the current advance ends. The offer comparison tool can line them up.
