Can I Get an MCA If I Don't Take Many Card Sales?
Yes. Most advances today are repaid by a fixed ACH debit from your bank account, so card sales aren't required. Funders read all your business deposits, including ACH, checks and cash you deposit. A business paid mostly by invoices should also look at factoring. What matters is steady deposits into one business account.
How does repayment work without card sales?
| Method | Fits |
|---|---|
| Fixed ACH debit | Most businesses; the usual method now |
| Split of card sales | Card-heavy businesses |
| Weekly ACH | Businesses paid in lumps |
What does this look like with real numbers?
Say a cleaning company deposits $35,000 a month, all by ACH and check from clients. A funder reads those deposits the same way it reads card batches, sets a weekly debit, and checks that the debit fits a slow month.
What other options fit a business with few card sales?
If most of your money sits in unpaid invoices, compare MCA vs invoice factoring.
What do funders read instead of card volume?
- Deposits from checks, ACH transfers and wire payments from customers.
- How regular they are, week to week.
- Whether a few big customers make up most of the money.
- Invoices or contracts that show money coming in.
If most of your income comes from invoices with net terms, invoice factoring can cost less than an advance. Ask us to compare both on your file.
Funders also look at how many days a month deposits land. A business paid twice a month by two big customers reads very differently from one paid daily by many small ones, even with the same total.
Do checks and ACH deposits count like card sales?
They count as revenue when they are customer payments landing in the business account. Funders read the deposit lines, so a check from a customer counts. A transfer from your savings or the proceeds of a loan doesn't.
What should you ask the funder?
- Do you fund businesses without card sales?
- Is repayment a fixed ACH debit?
- Do cash deposits count?
- Can the payment be weekly?
Where can you check your own numbers?
The short version is in the Qualifying FAQ. To check the numbers on your own advance, use the funder fit checker.
