Is It Safe to E-Sign an MCA Contract?

Yes. E-signatures are legally valid for business contracts under federal law, and nearly every funder closes by e-signature. The safety question is really about what you're signing, so read the whole contract on a big screen before you click.

Do e-signatures count on an MCA contract?

The federal E-SIGN Act says a contract can't be denied legal effect just because it was signed electronically, and most states have adopted the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act as well. That's why funders close by e-signature almost universally: it's fast, it's legally binding and it keeps a clean record of who signed and when.

How do you e-sign safely?

  • Make sure the email came from the funder or from us, not from a lookalike address.
  • Open the documents on a computer or tablet so you can read every page.
  • Check the business name, the amount, the payment and the bank account before you sign anything.
  • Initial and sign only where the document asks, and don't let anyone else sign for you.
  • Download the completed copy when you're done.

What should you read closely before signing?

The pages that matter most are the ones people skip: the payment section, the fee schedule, the reconciliation clause, the default section, the personal guarantee and any confession of judgment. If you don't understand a section, stop and ask before you sign. There's no penalty for asking, and the offer won't disappear because you took an hour to read it.

What identity checks come with e-signing?

Some e-signature platforms ask you to confirm your identity with a code sent to your phone or with questions from your credit file. That's normal and protects you from someone signing in your name.

What should you do after you sign?

You'll get an email with the signed contract. Save it where you can find it. You'll want it for the verification call, for reconciliation requests and for your payoff letter at the end.

How do you spot a fake signing request?

Fraudsters sometimes send fake e-signature emails to business owners, hoping you'll click a link and enter your bank login. A real signing request from a funder never asks for your online banking password. Check the sender's address, hover over the link before clicking and, if anything feels off, call the funder or us at a number you already trust.

How do you sign for an LLC or corporation?

When you e-sign, you're usually signing twice: once for the business, as its authorized officer or member, and once personally for the guarantee. The platform shows each signature box with a label. Read the label before you click, so you know which role you're signing in.
